The Maison
Made by hand. Made to last.
Our Story
A single room, a single needle, and an uncompromising idea.
In 1987, Isabella Aurèle — a seamstress trained in the couture houses of Paris — returned to her native Milan with a conviction: that clothing should be made the way her grandmother made it. Slowly. Precisely. With fabric chosen as carefully as a word in a poem.
Nearly four decades later, that conviction remains unchanged. Aurèle is still family-owned, still headquartered in the same building, and still finishes every buttonhole by hand.
“Luxury is not what you add. It is everything you refuse to compromise.”
Our Values
Four quiet principles
01
Slowness
We release two collections a year. Never more. Time is our most precious material.
02
Provenance
We know the name of every mill, tannery and farm we work with — and they know ours.
03
Permanence
Every piece is repaired for free, for life. Nothing we make should end in a landfill.
04
Restraint
No logos. No trends. Only proportion, fabric and the hand of the maker.
Heritage
